How it works
Each herbal medicine prescription is a cocktail of many substances, tailored to the individual patient. Traditionally, one prescription would equal a batch known as a decoction, containing up to 20 different herbs that would be cooked for a certain amount of time and in a precise order depending on the qualities of the herbs. Today we use patent herbal formulas which are standardized for quality and consistency, and are convenient to take.
Chinese herbal medicine is used to treat acute diseases and conditions, heal chronic illnesses and assist in the healthy daily maintenance of the body by keeping it in balance. Herbal formulas are often used in the treatment of pain, acne, asthma, chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, constipation, diarrhea, skin disorders, headaches, impotence, fertility issues, insomnia, menopause, sinusitis and allergy related symptoms.
